Job Summary:
Objective: Develop, operate, and maintain digital media systems, including audio-visual systems, websites, and multimedia content for the school’s projects, fine arts, athletics departments, and general use venues. Provide expertise in website design and photography/videography to enhance the school’s digital presence.
Responsibilities:
-Available to work occasional evenings and weekends as required.
-May be called on to perform other responsibilities as appropriate and as assigned based on ongoing organizational needs and strategic direction by the supervisor.
-Abide by and support the policies of YISS and NICS/Oasis.
-Lead efforts in coordinating with departments and groups regarding digital media requirements, including audio/visual needs, website content, and multimedia
production.
-Supervise auditorium and digital media-related events, including assemblies, drama
productions, musical performances, speakers, meetings, and other events.
-Monitor and maintain digital media systems, including website content, audio/visual equipment, and multimedia resources.
-Ensure equipment and digital assets are properly allocated, maintained, and updated. -Operate and maintain soundboards, lighting boards, A/V equipment, and digital media tools in the auditorium and across digital platforms.
-Train faculty, staff, and students in the proper use and care of digital media
resources, including website management and multimedia content creation.
-Oversee the planning, setup, and tear down of performance environments and digital media projects.
-Manage operations related to audio engineering (analog & digital consoles), video recording, internet streaming services,and website updates.
-Collaborate with event planners to build visual presentations, provide website
updates, or provide technical support to ensure their presentations are executed properly.
-Maintain equipment inventory and digital asset organization; solicit maintenance and repair as needed.
-Plan and implement digital media systems installations, website upgrades, and updates.
-Facilitate post-production of media for auditorium performances, digital events, and graduation.
-Coordinate the technical requirements for digital and physical events to ensure proper management and resource allocation.
-Manage the Master Calendar of school use of the auditorium and digital media platforms,
updating as needed.
-Assist in A/V setup for non-auditorium related events when available.
-Coordinate the digital media needs of graduation, including A/V and streaming services.
-Collaborate with event coordinators and building services as needed to ensure effective
communication of backstage area organization and digital media requirements.
Team Responsibilies:
-Participate in meetings, workshops, and/or trainings to convey and/or gather information required to perform job functions.
-Accurately organize and communicate information in various task management tools and file systems to assist with team collaboration and communication.
-Demonstrate a commitment to professional growth and ethical standards to advance the school’s mission, goals, and policies.
-Collaborate and facilitate good working relationships with staff to further technology and digital media program development and to ensure efficient operations of software, hardware systems, and digital platforms.
-Establish, maintain, and enhance effective communication with administrators, teachers, parents, and other stakeholders.
-Perform other duties as required by the supervisor.
Contractual Requirements:
-The Digital Media Specialist position is on a teacher contract and will be expected to be on duty up to 10 days, at the discretion of the supervisor, before the school year starts or after the school year ends to provide digital media and audio-visual in-service, prepare hardware, review technology goals, and plan for the upcoming year. The stipend amount for the additional days will be determined on a daily rate or by the current contracted stipend (whichever amount is greater of the two).
Qualifications:
Minimum:
-Knowledge of analog and digital sound reinforcement techniques.
-Experience producing internet audio/visual content.
-Minimum of two years of successful experience in digital media, website design, and technical support.
-Proficiency in photography and videography, including editing and post-production.
-Ability to effectively communicate within and across internal organizational teams and with external stakeholders.
-Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
-Committed to continuous personal and organizational development.
Preferred:
-Experience with website design and management, including proficiency in HTML, CSS, and content management systems (CMS).
-Expertise in photography and videography, with a portfolio demonstrating these skills.
-Musical background and understanding of live sound engineering for musical applications (ensembles, choir, theatre, etc.).
-Knowledge of theatre lighting systems.
-Highly organized and familiar with media presentation software (e.g., Proclaim Online, ProPresenter, Canva, G Suite Education, etc.).
-Fluency in Korean and English languages.
-Bachelor's degree in digital media, audio engineering, design, computer science, or a related field.
