Job Summary:
-Collaborate with classroom teachers and principal(s) to identify and assess students exhibiting learning needs in the classroom, following the school's learning support referral process and Response to Intervention (RTI) procedures.
-Identify curricular and instructional goals for Level 1, 2, and 3 learning support students.
-Plan and write Learning Support Plan (LSPs) including semester updates and accommodations necessary for students to meet their goals.
-Meet with parents, teachers, and administrators (as appropriate) to approve Learning Support Plan (LSPs) for students (yearly).
-Observe Level 1 students in various general education classes regularly.
-Meet with Level 2 students regularly, according to needs and classroom schedules.
-Meet with teachers regularly to support students in the classroom through behavioral approaches and accommodations based on observation and documentation of student learning needs.
-Collaborate with classroom teachers to ensure student plans and needs are fulfilled.
-Communicate and collaborate with teachers to help learning support students reach their goals and achieve success in all curricular classes (special emphasis on Math and English Language Arts).
-Strategically co-plan and intentionally co-teach with classroom teachers, implementing various models of co-teaching to support students in the general education classroom.
-Read, file, and distribute (where appropriate) psycho-educational evaluations and documentation regarding academic needs for students.
-Collaborate with the Admissions Team and principal(s) to screen incoming students requiring academic support services.
-Complete referral forms for students transferring to new schools or requiring input for psycho-educational evaluations.
-Collaborate with school counselors, as needed, to provide documentation for student accommodations for College Board assessments.
-Communicate with parents, students, and other professional staff regarding student progress (behavioral and academic).
-Collaborate with classroom teachers and principals to determine appropriate behavior plans for students in the classroom.
-Assess the learning of students on a regular basis and maintain student records; update LSPs each year.
-Relate instructional objectives to student needs.
-Plan, prepare and execute appropriate lessons, utilizing appropriate resource materials and activities to meet student needs.
-Employ a variety of instructional aides, methods, and materials that will provide for creative teaching to reach the whole child as stated in the ICS mission statement.
-Maintain proper discipline in the classroom and on the school premises utilizing developmentally appropriate discipline plans.
-Consistent consequences are expected except in extenuating circumstances.
-Affect student learning through mastery of the subject material by utilizing research-based teaching techniques to achieve curriculum goals within the framework of the school’s philosophy.
-Integrate Biblical principles and the Christian philosophy of education throughout the curriculum.
-Maintain regular and accurate attendance and grade records to meet the demands for a comprehensive knowledge of each student’s progress.
-Attend and participate in devotions, teachers’ meetings, evening programs if involving his or her students or as requested by the administration, and other meetings as assigned.
-Supervise extracurricular activities, organizations, and outings as assigned.
-Participate in Chapel and Service Learning activities with students.
-Perform supervisory duty as assigned (before school, break, lunch, after school).
-Maintain a clean and educationally stimulating classroom environment.
-Keep students, parents and the administration adequately informed of students’ progress or deficiencies and give sufficient notice of failure.
-Submit all reports to the administration, guidance office, school office etc. as required by school regulations or as requested.
-Work with administration in implementing all policies, procedures, and directives governing the operation of the school.
-Complete professional programs as required by the administration and/or ICS Board.
-Maintain teaching credentials as required by sponsoring agency (state/provincial education department, ACSI, etc.).
-Acquire teaching credentials as required by the laws of Singapore, NICS and/or ICS.
-Complete the Christian Philosophy of Education (CPoE) in-service program within the first two years of teaching at ICS.
-Demonstrate the character qualities of enthusiasm, courtesy, flexibility, integrity, kindness, self-control, perseverance and punctuality.
-Meet everyday stress with emotional stability, objectivity, and optimism.
-Develop and maintain rapport with students, parents and staff by treating others with friendliness, dignity and consideration.
-Respectfully submit and demonstrate loyalty to constituted authority.
-Maintain a personal appearance that is a role model of cleanliness, modesty, good taste and in agreement with school policy.

Qualifications: Current state or provincial issued teacher certification, Minimum of 2 years teaching/admin/business experience, Minimum of an undergraduate degree, Experience Teaching in an international or cross-cultural environment, ACSI Certification, Masters degree preferred
